Tools Programmer

You are a self-motivated, responsible professional who is able to design and implement new UE5 tools, DCC tools, and pipeline tools with little to no direction. Thinking about new tools that will change the way we make games is something that excites you. You see each tool as a product and do your best to ensure that your clients are satisfied. Your work will have a direct impact on the productivity of others.

  • Responsibilities 01
    • Follow best practices, development processes, and coding standards.
    • Create and implement well-engineered, reliable, and maintainable code.
    • Designing, implementing and modifying tools, and engine features for Unreal Engine 5, and DCCs.
    • Fixing bugs and maintaining DCCs and UE5 codebases
    • Experience with UE ActionScript or other script extensions
    • Excellent troubleshooting skills. Analysing and fixing common problems such as load times, memory usage, and performance problems.
    • Review code, identify opportunities for improvements.
    • Collaborate with a wide range of artists and designers to implement the tools they need to focus on building games.
    • Manage / curate scripts, as well as other action scripts
  • Qualifications 02
    • Has at least 3 years of experience in the industry.
    • Strong Python and modern C++ (11, 14) skills.
    • Well-versed in OOP and SOLID principles.
    • Deep understanding of Unreal Engine 5 and at least one DCC (Maya, Blender).
    • Experience writing UI with PyQT and UE5 Slate.
    • Project portfolio with code samples you can provide.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate fluently in English (written and verbal).
  • Bonus Qualifications 03
    • Can communicate in Japanese.
    • Has an interest in other disciplines, such as audio, art, or animation.
    • Understanding of graphics pipelines and shaders.
    • Understanding of linear algebra.
    • Experience with Blender.
    • Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
    • Experience with build deployment systems (Jenkins, TeamCity).
  • Japanese Visa Qualifications 04
    • A bachelor's degree or 10 years of experience.
